Dealing with spam


Mail services provided by SL & PD Rendell use Spamassasin (tm) as a system-wide spam filter.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of spam, not all spam can be filtered.  The majority of spam will be automatically send to your spam folder (only visible if you use webmail or an IMAP mail client).

If you do receive spam, you can "train" the spam filter by forwarding the spam email(s) to

spamtrap@yourdomain (eg


False positives (mail that has been classified as spam, but should not be the spam filter can be retrained by forwarding the relevant email(s) to hamtrap@yourdomain.


This is an incremental training process so it may have to be done a few times.
